Jacquelyn Smith is employed at Exxon Mobil Corporation’s Fairfax office and is responsible for program coordination across petroleum product trading teams in the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. She is a Chemical Engineer and has spent a 25+ year career in the petroleum industry. She has held a variety of positions in engineering, trading, and information systems in the Middle East, Australia, and here in the United States. Throughout her career she has been an advocate for removing barriers and obstacles in order for individuals, especially women to realize their maximum potential.
Jacquelyn has lived in Fairfax County for 20 years and enthusiastically volunteers in various nonprofit organizations. She is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Fairfax and currently serves as Board Chair for Volunteer Fairfax. She served 5 years on the Board of Trustees for Unity of Fairfax church, where she continues to lead several initiatives. In her spare time, Jacquelyn is passionate about continuing to learn and her current interests are ballroom dancing ,golf, and metaphysics.
She and her husband James Armstrong reside in Fairfax City and are the parents of a daughter, Jessica.
