Ms. Herbert has nearly two decades of experience as a law-enforcement officer, training instructor and adjunct professor for the Criminology, Law and Society Department of George Mason University. In her 10 years as a law-enforcement officer, she developed, established and implemented intelligence operations for multiple agency engagements addressing violent crimes and organized crime groups in Northern Virginia. As a result, Ms. Herbert developed skills in crime analysis, financial analysis, undercover operations and organizational structures for multi-jurisdictional initiatives. Her efforts have been awarded with multiple meritorious and team awards for community-impacting investigations.
In supporting law enforcement from private industry, she has been a key leader in developing new service offerings, building effective teams for intelligence and cyber analysts operations and supporting clients with in the Department of Justice. Ms. Herbert has continued to educate law-enforcement officers and analysts through both in-person and online training sessions. She is the Founder/Owner of I.D.E.A. Analytics LLC, a small business delivering strategic intelligence education and training to law enforcement and security officials.
Ms. Herbert is a certified anti-money laundering specialist and holds bachelor’s degrees in the administration of justice and sociology from George Mason University and a master’s in arts in global security studies from Johns Hopkins University.
